This is a ministry that is passionate about fulfilling Christ’s great commission, sharing the gospel and taking the truth of God’s word to the streets. Once a week, usually Saturdays or after service on Sunday, we hand out Christian tracts at traffic lights and busy spots around Midrand, and as the tract team we want to take the good news of Jesus boldly, unashamedly and in love to the streets. Our desire is to see people rescued from the Kingdom of darkness be brought into the Kingdom of Christ, receive Salvation, the gift of eternal life and be set free – and sometimes, all it takes is handing a tract to a complete stranger and their life is changed forever!

The prayer ministry at 3:16 Church is one with a burden to pray with and for those in need of God’s intervention in their lives, pray for society, Families and the country. We trust in the power of prayer and also trust in God’s word in Jeremiah 29: 12 which states that “Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.” Christ not only assures us that where 2 or more are gathered in His name, there is He also but Jeremiah 29:12 further assures us that when we call upon God, He will listen to us. “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. (1 John 5:14).

“For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, “I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me. Matthew 25:35-36

The Compassion and Care ministry seeks to share the love, compassion and hope of Christ with the less fortunate in our society. The ministry receives donations such as food, clothing, blankets, shoes etc and every two weeks distributes food and comfort parcels to those living on the street and the very fringes of society. We also look to support Children’s homes , orphanages and various Non-Profit organisations in terms of donations, our time and our resources.

If Christ is our example, then we need to actively and consciously display Christ’s radical love to those in our society who need it the most yet so often ignored. While we cannot base our salvation on our ‘good works’ but Christ alone, we believe that Christ becomes real to those around us when they see the love and compassion of Jesus in our deeds and not just in our words. During the outreach, we also take the opportunity to pray with them, share the gospel with them.
